Hello world!
I decided to finally give this blog thing a try. I customarily feel I have nothing of interest to say. However, my goal is to wade through the ordinary events of my life and unearth the fascinating happenings. I need to prove, at least to myself, that I have a fun, worthwhile, extraordinary existence. So I write this, while Melina is pulling my arm away from the keyboard in hopes of making Ben allow her to join in his video game.
What's happening now:
Ben is playing game after game. I think he just ended a game of Rayman to start Ghostbusters. I just had my first time attacking a punching bag. I was thinking a heavy bag would be fun to get for Ben--he loves punching and play fighting, and I thought it would be a good way for him to expend his energy and direct his anger. He didn't like it, though; it hurt his hands. I, on the other hand, loved it! What a fun way to get rid of my pent up aggression, anxiety, frustration, and anger! I was doing jabs, uppercuts, and I don't know what else, complete with roundhouse kicks (or my feeble version of a roundhouse kick). I think I have to get one for myself. Ben might do better with one of those little punching bags.
So, I think I'll do some searching and see how much those run and the feasibility of putting one of those up in my basement. While I'm doing that I think I'll look for a children's keyboard for Melina. She loves to play at her babysitter's house. It could provide hours of entertainment and maybe lead to lessons.
Ok, that's pretty exciting. It'll be something other than video games and tv--just what the kiddos need. (Oh, sidenote, Ben thinks that "searching," "looking up," or "researching" are things solely done on the computer. Oh, the age we live in...)
I'm sure I'll be checking back in frequently throughout the summer. The school year is an entirely different matter.
Bye!
